Chapu Apaolaza has a degree in Journalism from the University of Navarra. He began his career at Vocento in 2004 as a founding member of the newspaper ‘La Voz de Cádiz’ where he directed the Culture and Society area. In 2009, he joined Vocento's central editorial office (Colpisa) as a specialist in reporting and chronicling, and participated as a special correspondent in covering major events such as the attacks in Paris and Brussels. In 2017, he joined as an editorialist and political analyst on ‘Más de Uno’ at Onda Cero and later on ‘La Brújula’, a program in which he participates every night. Since 2006, he has been a columnist and he can currently be read in the pages of ‘La Razón’, ‘The Objective’, and ‘Diario de Navarra’. Additionally, he collaborates with various television media, currently at the political table of ‘Espejo Público’ on Antena 3 with Susanna Griso. From 2018 to 2022, he has held spokesperson duties at the Toro de Lidia Foundation, where he has worked on reformulating the debate on bullfighting. He is the founder and director of the Juan Belmonte Institute, a think tank dedicated to reflection on culture and freedom in today's society. He is the author of the book ‘7 de julio’ (Libros del KO) about the encierro of Pamplona. He received the 2006 Defense Award for his coverage, the Manuel Alcántara International Journalism Award, and the Unicaja Award for Articles.
